<p>In this article I will show you how to prepare Creole Chicken Gumbo recipe. It can be prepared with just a little effort. Creole cooking is probably the ultimate fusion cooking, that is, it is a blend of many different cultures. And, we&#8217;re the lucky recipients because there is no need for any gluten-containing ingredients. I use Cajun-style andouille chicken sausage in this recipe but you can use any type you wish. This recipe makes about 4 servings. Here are ingredients and simple directions. Follow them very carefully:<b>CREOLE CHICKEN GOMBO RECIPE</b><b>INGREDIENTS :</b></p>
<p>2 tablespoons canola oil4 chicken legs¼ cup chopped onion¼ pound gluten-free andouille sausage cut in ¼-inch slices1 rib celery, finely sliced1 small green pepper, finely chopped½ cup petite diced tomatoes, including juice2 garlic cloves, smashed3 cups gluten-free, low-sodium chicken broth1 teaspoon tomato paste2 bay leaves2 teaspoons paprika1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme or ½ teaspoon dried1 teaspoon chopped fresh basil or ½ teaspoon dried½ teaspoon salt½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper1 can (12 ounces) okra, okra pieces halved, drained1 teaspoon file powder2 tablespoons cold water1 cup cooked, diced dark meat chicken4 ounces fresh or canned crab meat2 cups hot cooked white rice2 tablespoons chopped flat-leaf parsley<b>DIRECTIONS : </b><b>1. </b>In a Dutch oven or other deep, heavy pot with a tight-fitting lid, heat the oil over medium heat. Add chicken in one part of skillet and put onion, sausage, celery and green pepper in separate area of skillet. Cook until chicken is browned on all sides. Stir vegetables and sausage occasionally so they brown on all sides, transferring to plate if they finish browning before chicken. Stir in tomatoes, garlic, broth, tomato paste, bay leaves, paprika, thyme, basil, salt, and black pepper (and return browned vegetables to skillet, if removed). Gradually bring to boil and reduce heat. Simmer gently, uncovered, 15 minutes.<b>2. </b>Add okra to pot and continue to simmer 5 minutes more. In a small bowl, blend file powder and cold water. Add to soup and stir briskly. Add chicken and crab meat and heat to serving temperature over medium heat, but do not boil. Serve piping hot over hot cooked rice, garnished with parsley.Let me remind all of you that this a gluten free recipe. Follow the step by step directions very carefully and you will be surprised how good this chicken gumbo recipe really is. Lots of fun preparing this chicken recipe. I&#8217;ve eaten tails in restaurants where the meat has expanded over the top of the shell.  I know how to cook a tail, just don&#8217;t know how to make the meat poof up.  Do I unattach everything except the end of the tail and lay it on top of the shell?  What cooking method do I use to achieve this?</p>

Core and peel 6 apples. Add a handful of raisins and 115ml apple juice. </p>
<p>Bring to a boil and simmer until cooked. Add spoonful of lemon juice to enhance flavor. Spice up with cinnamon.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Pesto Pea Soup<br />
Simmer chopped onion, sliced carrot, sliced celery, and 1 3/4 cups of low sodium chicken broth and 2 cups of water in a covered pot for 6 minutes, then add a 10oz bag of frozen peas and cook for 3 minutes. Stir of 1 tbsp of pesto and puree soup in blender until smooth. Season with lemon juice, and serve</p>

Choose your favorite fish/pork or chicken , cook (bake or steam) and then top with fresh tomato, mango, strawberry etc salsa. Place meat with salsa on a bed of spinach or other salad greens and serve</p>

For a on the go snack, sprinkle cayenne pepper on top of one ounce of dry-roasted peanuts and enjoy</p>

Grilled Chicken and spinach salad with cherry tomatoes, feta, and olive oil or a vinaigrette.</p>

Mix fresh salsa (make sure it is not high in sugar or fat-the best choice is home made!) with your choice of lean meat (tuna, chicken, lean beef, turkey, pork) and wrap up in a whole wheat wrap, or even better, make it a lettuce wrap! You can use regular tomato salsa or switch it up and use a mango or other fruit salsa</p>

Cook chicken and toss with salad greens, mango slices, walnuts. Squeeze lime (lemon or orange) juice on top and season with pepper to taste.</p>

These days, anabolic cooking is becoming exceptionally popular among folks who want to lose weight, build muscle and get fit. Body builders, in particular, are involved in anabolic cooking and that&#8217;s why we determined to glimpse at the Anabolic Cookbook.</p>
<p>The Anabolic Cookbook was put to the public via Dave Ruel. A body-building pro, Dave wants you to like good-tasting foods that are beneficial for you. Drab, boring, and lacking in taste describe the foods that most body builders consume, according to Dave. <p>Of course you don&#8217;t do this consciously, but you still do it if you use &#8216;Accent&#8217; or any other form of MSG in your cooking. I know how hard it is for people who are used to flavoring their food with &#8216;Accent&#8217; to leave it out; they claim that the food does not taste the same, that it does not have a good flavor. Let me tell you the reason for this statement: You are addicted!</p>
<p>That&#8217;s right: MSG is a poison that messes with your brain as much as with your taste buds. There is so much scientific evidence for this, that I am surprised and actually angry that it has not been put on a health-risk list, or even better banned from use in food all together. MSG stands for &#8220;Mono-Sodium Glutamate&#8221; and is everything but a natural additive to food, yet you find it in almost all processed foods: yes even in coffee (Starbucks) and hundreds of items from Campbell&#8217;s soups to Top Ramen to Betty Crocker Hamburger Helpers, almost all potato chips, salad dressings (especially the so called healthy low fat ones) and Swanson frozen prepared meals, and the list goes on and on.</p>
<p>As I said, even if you don&#8217;t actually flavor the food you prepare from scratch in your own kitchen with Accent, or any other flavor-enhancers, you get MSG from almost any packaged food you buy off the shelves at the supermarkets.</p>
<p>Do you know what purpose MSG had for over thirty years? It was used to fatten up rats in laboratories in order to test diabetes and obesity. Newborn rats were injected with MSG, which tripled their amount of insulin response by the pancreas and made they obese in no time. This may be a necessary way to study the effects of diabetes in rats, which the pharmaceutical companies are interested in to create medicines for humans, but why is it in our food?</p>
<p>MSG is added to food because it has an addictive effect, in other words, you want to eat more of the food that contains MSG. The Glutamate Association, which supports the addition to MSG to foods claims, that it helps the elderly to eat more! That may be o.k. for stimulating the appetite of our seniors (I am almost there and do not find it o.k. for me!), but what does it do to our middle aged, still young, and children?</p>
<p>Is it any wonder that the problems with weight are so prevalent in our communities, which includes our children? The FDA has set no limits on how much can be added to our food supply, and consequently MSG has been added to a larger and larger degree in more foods than you can imagine. Our children become more addicted to Fast Food (Junk), and even your defenses are dulled to giving in, because you eat the stuff yourself and became addicted as well.</p>
<p>How can you tell your child not to eat the chips, cookies, or &#8220;children meals&#8221;, if you crave the stuff yourself? You know, I am not angry with you, but with the agencies (government) that allows the greed of big food companies to put a scientifically proven addictive substance in your food, in order to sell more of their products and be competitive, with the devastating side effects of ill health. What is the price on your health, your life?</p>
<p>In hundreds of studies since the early 60th, it has been established that MSG plays a major role in the growing obesity problem. But it does not stop there, many common diseases like Diabetes, Autism, ADHD, Migraines, and even Cancer have been linked to this slow poison called MSG. There are countless study papers on the Internet at the National Library of Medicine: http://www.pubmed.com, where you can read about the devastating effect that MSG has on your health and wellbeing. I also recommend a book by John Erb: &#8221; The Slow Poisoning of America&#8221;, just in case you are still not convinced that you may be slowly poisoning your children and yourself. If you don&#8217;t start reading labels, and stay away from Fast Food, you, and especially your children may be doomed to obesity and it&#8217;s many health issues by an addictive food additive. Don&#8217;t let it happen.</p>
<p>Where you unsuccessful in your efforts to drop some weight? Even if you have tried everything to shed the extra pounds, you may not have been able to because MSG kept the fat sticking with you by keeping you addicted to unhealthy foods. If you say: O.K. I will stop using Accent and other Flavor enhancers and read labels, and don&#8217;t eat Fast Food (that includes Kentucky Fried Chicken, which is loaded with MSG), you may have an uphill battle. Why? Because you may not even know how addicted you have become to the cravings of the foods containing MSG. You may go into withdrawal symptoms from cutting it out suddenly. Food allergies are caused by an immune system reacting inappropriately to the present food that is being ingested. This is when we try to find the offending food to decrease or eliminate the problem.</p>
<p>Dogs also suffer other symptoms due to actual allergies rather than intolerance. The dog food allergies can include such afflictions as itchy skin, which is a common problem. This itchiness is usually noticed on the dog&#8217;s sides, tail, butt, paws, face and ears. The incessant itching, scratching and licking is sometimes as irritating to us as it must by for your dog. The allergy needs to be found and eliminated quickly, so the incessent licking and scratching doesn&#8217;t go on to cause open wounds that can get infected.</p>
<p>An obvious food allergy will show up soon after switching or changing your dog&#8217;s food. </p>
<p>Removing the recently introduced new food should take care of this problem. Adding only one new food at a time over a period of many weeks will help define which foods your dog can tolerate. If your dog&#8217;s allergies suddenly start even though no new foods have been introduced, then it may become more difficult to find the cause of the allergy.</p>
<p>This is the immune system reacting to a sudden sensitivity to the allergen, and is harder to figure out what has caused this problem. In this case you will have to start from scratch to try and eliminate this dog food allergy. First you will have to completely stop the usual food altogether. </p>
<p>This is a drastic measure, and we have all read to introduce new foods slowly, but in this case you have to start your dog on a new food suddenly, rather that gradually.</p>
<p>Put your dog on a diet consisting of foods to which he has never previously eaten. If you have fed a chicken based dog food, then you can try another protein based kibble. Many foods for dogs with allergies are completely grain free, because grains are a known allergy causing ingredient for many dogs.</p>
<p>It may take a few weeks for the allergies to start to settle down on the new diet. Introduce a new diet consisting of a minimum essential ingredients, but making sure the diet is also nutritionally complete.</p>
<p>The fewer the better.</p>
<p>There are many excellent high quality, chemical free, grain free dog foods available which have just the very basic ingredients necessary for optimum health. Always consult a vet if the symptoms are sudden and severe.</p>
<p>There are also many other types of allergies that are not food related, such as infestation of parasites and fleas, environmental or even seasonal allergies. These should be eliminated as the cause of your dog&#8217;s problems and are treated differently than dog food allergies. It is not always a quick process, but if you can relieve your dog of discomfort, it is worth time spent investigating.</p>

I really want to become a good cook, but I don&#8217;t want to go to school for it. I&#8217;ve been learning how to cook from a Betty Crocker cookbook and a Japanese Cuisine cookbook. They are good books in my opinion. I only want to learn how to become a good cook so that I can feed myself and impress my dates. Am I doing the right thing? Learning from a cook book? What else can I do?</p>

<p><i>Answer by M D</i><br/>If you can follow instructions it will be very possible.  Over time you can adjust the ingredients to your liking once you get the hang of each particular dish.  There are also some very good cooking shows on tv if you can find them.</p>

<p>People new to running a business of ten focus on the basics: getting the business of the ground, marketing skills and products, etc. But there&#8217;s one thing that nearly every budding entrepreneur forgets, and that&#8217;s networking. This might be because networking is often negatively viewed as schmoozing in order to succeed. Some might even think of it as reliance on friendships rather than true skill. However, the truth is that networking is a legitimate part of business, and it&#8217;s a valuable skill that will help you grow your new enterprise. In moderation, networking is crucial and even necessary. </p>
<p>For caterers, for example, they usually start out quite small. The business operates from a home office, the company van is actually the family van, and it&#8217;s the business owner who actually cooks the food for the party. Many caterers start out as people who just really love hosting parties and cook great food for people, and this enthusiasm eventually translates to a stab at catering as a business. From a tiny home office, some caterers eventually go big and become household names rather than just a household enterprise.</p>
<p>The truth is that caterers need to network a whole lot before they can even get any business at all. You know how caterers start small? They&#8217;re probably already known in their circle as &#8220;that person who cooks superbly and hosts wonderful parties&#8221;. Their friends and family know their skills. As such, when they finally start a business, these people will be the ones to vouch for the budding caterer, talking to others about the caterer&#8217;s strengths and recommending him or her for future parties. These people &#8211; your friends and your family &#8211; are your basic network.</p>
<p>This begins by asking your network to talk about your business. They already know that you&#8217;re great at cooking and entertaining; now they can help you spread the word about your business by talking about you to colleagues, clients, and others. Whenever someone in their circle mentions needing a caterer, they could recommend you. Word of mouth has to be one of the most powerful means of advertising. They talk about you; recommend you; vouch for you &#8211; what better advertising could you hope for?</p>
<p>This isn&#8217;t the end of the network, though, because as a businessperson your goal is to make your network bigger. Each event becomes your platform for advertising. Every client is now part of your network. They could recommend you to their colleagues and friends, and that would bring your business to more people. Your parties are now part of your &#8220;portfolio&#8221;, and every guest can become part of your network. Just offer your card at the end of parties, to see if anyone might be interested in getting your services.</p>
<p>But increasing your network won&#8217;t always have to rely on friends and family, as this could prove a dead end eventually. Instead, try to increase your network by joining trade fairs and introducing yourself to potential clients. Try to make some sample snacks so people who drop by your booth get to taste a bit of your cooking. Now that&#8217;s a fun way of marketing and increasing your network.</p>
<p>Networking also means strengthening your relationship with your suppliers. They function as your backbone, to a certain degree. Now that your business is growing, make sure you focus as equally on your catering wholesalers and suppliers. Catering wholesalera will be quite valuable in your network, as they can help you procure all the fresh supplies you need. It must be said that catering wholesalers don&#8217;t always just provide food supplies; they can also provide the equipment (for cooking) and the serving ware you need. Keep your relationship with your catering wholesaler positive, as he or she can be the crux that makes or breaks your business. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you had a long day?  Are you rushing from work to athletic practice, games, piano lessons, etc?  You can still make a decent quick meal at home in a matter of minutes. There is no need to stop by a fast food drive-thru when your family can eat a good meal at home.  If you follow my blogs,  you know I believe Americans should cut back on the fast food restaurants and eat more meals at home.  This stir-fry helps to make that happen for busy families. This recipe calls for chicken but you could substitute 3/4 pound of cleaned shrimp for the chicken.  If you substitute shrimp, reduce the frying time by a minute or two.</p>
<p>QUICK SAUCY CHICKEN STIR-FRY<br />
 <br />
3 tbsp canola oil<br />
1 cup broccoli flowerets<br />
1 cup cauliflowerets<br />
3/4 cup 2-inch julienned carrots<br />
1/4 cup sliced green onion<br />
1 garlic clove, minced<br />
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips<br />
1/2 cup mayonnaise or mayo type salad dressing<br />
1 tbsp soy sauce<br />
1/2 tsp ground ginger<br />
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes, optional<br />
Hot cooked brown rice to serve 4</p>
<p>Heat 1 tablespoon of the canola oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. </p>
<p>Add the broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, green onion, and garlic and stir-fry about 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Remove the vegetables from the pan.</p>
<p>Add the last 2 tablespoons of the oil and the chicken strips to the pan. Stir-fry the mixture about 5 minutes or until tender. Reduce the heat and return the vegetables to the pan with the chicken. Add the salad dressing, soy sauce, ginger, and red pepper flakes, if using. Simmer one to two minutes, stirring occasionally.</p>
<p>Serve over the hot rice.  (Minute Rice is perfectly fine!)</p>
<p>Yield: 4 servings</p>

<p>How to prepare recipe for poached chicken with lemon sauce? A more or less traditional preparation, one that must be served with good bread, or at least a spoon for the sauce. Other protein to use: any cutlets pork, veal, or turkey. This recipe makes 4 servings. Time to prepare is 30 minutes. Follow the simple directions:<b>RECIPE FOR POACHED CHICKEN WITH LEMON SAUCE</b><b>INGREDIENTS :</b></p>
<p>4 tablespoons butter or extra virgin olive oil2 leeks, washed well and diced, including some of the green part, or 2 small onions, diced½ cup dry white wine or water½ cup chicken or vegetable stock or water½ teaspoon chopped fresh thyme or tarragon leaves or a good pinch driedAbout 1 ½ pounds boneless white meat chicken (breasts, cutlets, or tenders), cut into 1- to 1 ½ inch chunks if you like2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juiceSalt and freshly ground black pepperChopped fresh parsley leaves for garnish<b>DIRECTIONS : </b><b>1. </b>Put half of the butter or oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When the butter is melted or the oil is hot, add the leeks and cook, stirring, until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the wine, stock, and herb; bring to a boil and let bubble for a minute or two.<b>2. </b>Add the chicken, turn the heat down to medium low, cover, and simmer until the meat is barely cooked through, 5 or 6 minutes. Remove the chicken with a slotted spoon and keep warm. <b>3. </b>Turn the heat up to high and cook the sauce rapidly, stirring occasionally, until just about ¾ cup remains; this will take 5 to 10 minutes. Lower the heat to medium low, add the lemon juice, then stir in the remaining butter or oil, a bit at a time. If you&#8217;re using oil, add it gradually, stirring vigorously with the back of a spoon as you do so.<b>4. </b>Sprinkle with salt and pepper and return the chicken chunks to the sauce to heat through. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.Variations you may like:<b>Simplest Poached Chicken</b>If you don&#8217;t have any fresh herbs handy, use a couple of bay leaves; omit the lemon. Complete the recipe after Step 2; you&#8217;ll have plenty of chicken for salads or sandwiches.<b>Chicken in Ginger Sauce</b>Best over rice, white or brown. In Step 1, use peanut or neutral oil, like grapeseed or corn. Substitute 1 teaspoon chopped garlic and 3 tablespoons minced or grated fresh ginger for the leeks and cook for only 2 or 3 minutes. Reduce the wine to ¼ cup and omit the herb; add 1/4 cup soy sauce after you have reduced the wine and stock. Steps 2 and 3 remain the same, but you need not reduce this sauce; simply adjust the seasoning after the chicken is cooked through and serve. Omit the lemon juice and garnish with minced cilantro instead of parsley.<b>Chicken and Fruit in Curry Sauce</b>Also best over white rice: In Step 1, use peanut or neutral oil. Substitute 1 cup sliced onion for the leeks. When they&#8217;re soft, add 2 tablespoons spice blend, like curry powder or garam masala and stir for 1 minute; omit the wine, stock, and herb. In Step 2, add 2 cups peeled and chunked apples, bananas, papayas, or a mixture, along with 1 cup peeled and chopped tomato, with the chicken. <p><i>Answer by karen star</i><br/>steamed broccoli with melted cheese (180 mg per cup without the cheese, more with)</p>
<p>anything with yogurt, like a yogurt-fruit parfait</p>
<p>mac and cheese with real cheese</p>
<p>Since you have to bring it in to class, a casserole of Macaroni and Cheese might be easiest, though if you have a cooler, the parfaits are easy to make on the spot with prepared fruit.</p>

They can be put in the fridge and reheated, made in under 10 minutes from simple and easy to use ingredients and combined with almost any meat or vegetable you can care to think of!One of my favourite recipes with pasta is just a simple and quick dish which forms the basis for most pasta recipes. Simply boil some water and drop in your pasta. This process is quicker if you add salt to raise the boiling temperature &#8211; if you are short of time as I often find I am!While the pasta is cooking &#8211; and this should only take a few minutes depending whether you are using fresh or dried pasta &#8211; heat some oil in a pan and add some finely chopped onions, crushed or chopped garlic and sweet peppers. I prefer using red peppers just for the colour value! Once your onions and peppers are nicely heated, I like my slightly crunchy and not over cooked, add a can of chopped tomatoes and bring to the boil. Add some olives and I particularly like capers in my <a href="http://bestrestaurantrecipes.org/atletherecipe" class="pretty-link-keyword" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">recipes</a> with pasta. You can also season with olive oil and basil and any spices you particularly fancy. Hot peppers are a good choice if you&#8217;re feeling brave.A great seasoning idea is to mix in chopped garlic, crushed ginger and some finely chopped hot peppers (including seeds) with some olive oil. Add salt and pepper to taste and voila &#8211; a great and spicy seasoning which goes great with pasta recipes and salads alike! Mix in the seasoning after you have thrown in the pasta to the main sauce. Serve and enjoy! </p>
